Absolutely. We'll have a planning call before your event to create “must-play” and “do-not-play” lists, highlight key moments, and share your favorite artists. Your preferences are always the foundation of the set. Every set is thoughtfully curated to match your crowd, your taste, and the exact vibe you want to create.
Do you take song requests during the event?
Yes, when appropriate. Guest requests are welcomed and thoughtfully incorporated as long as they align with your vision and the overall energy of the event.
Do you travel for events?
Yes. Nihar is based in the NYC area and regularly performs at major cities across the US. Destination events are welcome (travel and accommodation can be arranged as part of your package).
Do you DJ Indian weddings?
Yes. Nihar has experience with Indian weddings, including Sangeet, Mehendi, Baraat, and Reception events. He understands the cultural nuances, key moments, and music styles needed to create an authentic celebration.
Do you provide MC services?
No, but Nihar can handle announcements and coordinate key moments (entrances, speeches, performances) to ensure a smooth and polished flow.
Do you bring your own sound system?
Yes, professional-grade sound equipment can be provided if your venue does not supply it. Setup is tailored to the size and acoustics of your event space.
Do you provide lighting?
Basic dance floor and room lighting can be included. For more elaborate intelligent lighting, Nihar can coordinate with your decorator or provide recommendations.
Do you work with live performers (e.g., dhol players)?
While not provided as part of his DJ services, Nihar can coordinate with experienced dhol players and other performers to elevate key moments of your event.
How do payments work?
A 50% retainer is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is due prior to the event.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible, especially for weddings and peak season dates. Most events are booked months in advance.
